Sika® Stabilizer-6001 TBM AE

LIQUID ACCELERATOR AS COMPONENT B OF TBM BACKFILL GROUTS

Sika® Stabilizer-6001 TBM AE is a sodium-based liquid accelerator commonly used in two-component backfill grouts, during tunnelling excavation with shielded TBMs.
During excavation, the shield leaves an empty ring space between the tunnel concrete segments and the excavated ground. Injection and filling of this space is commonly done with a backfill grout that is stabilized and retarded.

Usage

Sika® Stabilizer-6001 TBM AE is normally used in tunnel excavation with shielded tunnel boring machines (TBMs).   Sika® Stabilizer-6001 TBM AE is designed for usage in two-component grouts where a rapid gel and early strength values are decisive. 
The Product is fully compatible with retarders such as Sika Stabilizer-5010 TBM.

Consumption

Recommended dosage

The correct dosage must be determined by preliminary testing. Pre-trials should be conducted to confirm the correct dosage with the equipment and shotcrete that is intended to be used.

Typical dosage range of Sika® Stabilizer-6001 TBM AE is 60 – 110 kg per cubic meter (m3) of grout.
Application steps

APPLICATION

Addition of Sika® Stabilizer-6001 TBM AE is done through standard Component B injection systems equipped in modern TBMs.
Sika® Stabilizer-6001 TBM AE is mixed with Component A immediately before injection of the grout.

Conduct preliminary jobsite and laboratory trials to evaluate the setting time specific to the project.
