SikaWall®-1010 Alpha Dry Adhesive

DRY-MIX POLYMER ADHESIVE FOR INSULATION BOARD

SikaWall®-1010 Alpha Dry Adhesive is a dry-mix polymer adhesive containing portland cement and requiring only water for mixing. Part of SikaWall® / Sikatherm® Exterior Insulation and Finish System (EIFS). Suitable for use in hot and tropical climatic conditions.

Usage

  • Part of SikaWall® / Sikatherm® Exterior Insulation and Finish System (EIFS) to adhere insulation board to the following acceptable substrates: Sikagard® AWB 661 range, unpainted and unglazed concrete or unit masonry, paper-faced gypsum sheathing, fiberglass mat-faced gypsum sheathing, water-resistant core gypsum sheathing, cement-board, etc.
  • To adhere insulation board to insulation board.
  • Use for small repairs, reduces dumpster and landfill costs of unit disposal.

Storage conditions

Store in undamaged, original sealed packaging in dry conditions at temperatures between +5 °C and +30 °C. Protect from direct sunlight, heat and moisture.

Note: Good application practice is to install the board on the wall immediately after adhesive application. If wind or direct sunlight is present, skinning time will decrease.

Note: Application rates will depend on the quality of application, surface flatness and texture, also from the density of the insulation board. These figures are theoretical and do not allow for any additional material due to surface porosity, surface profile, variations in level, wastage or any other variations. Apply product to a test area to calculate the exact consumption for the specific substrate conditions and proposed application equipment.

Application steps

MIXING

  • Place contents of each bag in a suitable container which is clean and free of foreign substances.
  • Do not use a container which has contained or been cleaned with a petroleum-based product.
  • Fill the container with advised amount of clean, potable water.
  • Add SikaWall®-1010 Alpha Dry Adhesive in small increments, mixing after each addition.
  • Mix the contents of the SikaWall®-1010 Alpha Dry Adhesive unit with a low speed drill and paddle mixer until thoroughly blended.
  • Additional SikaWall®-1010 Alpha Dry Adhesive or small amount of water may be added to adjust workability.
  • Let it stand for 5 minutes, then remix and retemper before use.
  • Additives are not permitted.
  • Close container when not in use.

CLEANING OF EQUIPMENT

Clean tools with soap and water immediately after use.
