SikaWall®-15 Tinted Primer AE

(former Senergy® Tinted Primer)

ACRYLIC BASED PRIMER

An acrylic based primer for use with finishes of Sika Exterior Insulation and Finish System (EIFS), to help alleviate substrate read through, aids with color uniformity and finish shadowing.

  • Reducing the absorbance of cement base coats and cementitious substrates to improve workability of finish coat application.
  • Creates better final appearance, alleviates shadowing of light colored, rolled finishes.
  • Reduces potential of efflorescence in stucco and other cementitious substrates.

Usage

  • SikaWall®-15 Tinted Primer AE helps alleviate shadowing and enhances performance of the SikaWall® finish coats range.
  • SikaWall®-15 Tinted Primer AE should closely match the colour of the selected SikaWall® finish coats range.
  • SikaWall®-15 Tinted Primer AE is also used when preparing substrates such as poured concrete, unit masonry, conventional stucco (brown coat), veneer plaster or gypsum board (interior only) prior to application of SikaWall® finish coats range.

Storage conditions

Store in undamaged, original sealed packaging in dry conditions at temperatures between +5 °C and +30 °C. Protect from direct sunlight, heat and moisture.

Consumption

Approximate coverage rate is 70–100 m2 per unit. Coverage will vary greatly depending on the porosity and condition of the surface.
Application steps

MIXING

  • Thoroughly mix the factory-prepared SikaWall®-15 Tinted Primer AE with a paddle and drill to a uniform consistency.
  • A small amount of clean, potable water may be added to adjust workability.
  • Additives are not permitted.
  • Close the container when not in use.

APPLICATION

  • Substrate shall be dry, clean, sound and free of releasing agents, paint or other residue or coatings.
  • Verify substrate is flat, free of fins or any irregularities greater than 6.4 mm in 3 m length.
  • Apply SikaWall®-15 Tinted Primer AE to substrate with a sprayer, 10 mm nap roller or good quality latex paint brush.
  • SikaWall®-15 Tinted Primer AE shall be dry to the touch before proceeding to the SikaWall® finish coat range application.

CLEANING OF EQUIPMENT

Clean all tools and application equipment with clean water and soap immediately after use. Hardened / cured material can only be removed mechanically.
