SikaWall®-4010 Color Coat

PURE ACRYLIC BASED COATING

Acrylic based coating suitable for spray, roller or brush application over SikaWall® Exterior Insulation and Finish System (EIFS) with minimum change in finish texture or sheen. Suitable for use in hot and tropical climatic conditions.

Usage

  • SikaWall®-4010 Color Coat can be used for design graphics or to change the color of any SikaWall®-6000 range finishing coats or other compatible Exterior Insulation and Finish System (EIFS).
  • SikaWall®-4010 Color Coat is also applied to SikaWall®-1030 Alpha Dry Base Coat in sealant joints prior to application of the primer and sealant. (Note: SikaWall®-4010 Color Coat is not intended for use as a finish coat directly over SikaWall®-1030 Alpha Dry Base Coat and is not recommended for touch-ups)

Composition

Storage conditions

Store in cool, dry conditions in original, undamaged sealed packaging and at temperatures between +5 °C and +35 °C. Protect from direct sunlight, heat and moisture.

Consumption

Approximately 60–100 m² per one 24.9 kg unit, for one coat application. Some applications may require two coats.

Note: These figures are theoretical and do not allow for any additional material due to surface porosity, surface profile, variations in level and wastage, etc.
Application steps

MIXING

  • Mix the contents of the SikaWall®-4010 Color Coat pail with a low speed drill and paddle mixer until thoroughly blended.
  • A small amount of clean, potable water may be added to adjust workability, but it is generally unnecessary since a thick consistency is best suitable for consistent application.
  • Do not add any additives.
  • Close and seal the pail when not in use.
 

APPLICATION

Design graphics / Color change: 

   

  • Surface must be clean, dry and free of contaminants. As required, rinse wall thoroughly with clean water and allow to dry.
  • Apply SikaWall®-4010 Color Coat with a 10 mm nap roller or airless spray equipment. If necessary, cut in the edges with a high-quality, latex-type paint brush.
  • Brush or roll out in all directions, maintaining a wet edge at all times.
  • SikaWall®-4010 Color Coat must be worked continuously until a uniform appearance is obtained over the entire wall surface.
  • For two-coat applications: allow the first coat to dry prior to application of the second coat.
  • Or alternatively, apply the first coat as a tack coat; while maintaining a wet edge, double-back with the second coat. 

   

Sealant joint preparation for sealant application:  

 

  • Surface must be clean, dry and free of contaminants. As required, rinse wall thoroughly with clean water and allow to dry.
  • Apply SikaWall®-4010 Color Coat to the SikaWall®-1030 Alpha Dry Base Coat in the joint only, with a high-quality, latex-type paint brush.
  • SikaWall®-4010 Color Coat must be worked continuously until a uniform appearance is obtained.
  • Allow SikaWall®-4010 Color Coat to dry thoroughly (approximately 24 hours) prior to application of primer and sealant.
     

CLEANING OF EQUIPMENT

Clean all tools and application equipment with clean water immediately after use. Hardened / cured material can only be removed mechanically.
