Full adhesion is generally achieved immediately after bonding. This can be affected by ambient conditions.

Consumption depends on the roughness and absorbency of the substrate. These figures are theoretical and do not allow for any additional material due to surface porosity, surface profile, variations in level or wastage etc.

The substrate must offer sufficient strength and adhesion to resist the forces generated by wind suction.

The substrate must be resistant to solvents and must be firm, clean, dry, free from oil, grease dust, stripping agents and loose friable particles. Absorbent substrates can be primed by diluting the adhesive.

Reference must be made to further documentation of the relevant roof waterproofing membrane where applicable, such as relevant method statement, application manual and installation or working instructions.

General adhesive information SikaRoof® Adhesive C-733 must be stirred carefully before use. Keep adhesive container closed whenever adhesive is not being used to keep workability consistant (to reduce solvent evaporation). Viscosity of the SikaRoof® Adhesive C-733 contact adhesive can be changed and adapted by adding SikaRoof Cleaner L-100. It may be necessary to modify the viscosity after prolonged storage or if container was opened for long periods of time. Mix SikaRoof Cleaner L-100 into the adhesive by carefully stirring small quantities into the adhesive to achieve the desired viscosity.

Bonding procedure The adhesive is spread evenly onto the substrate using a roller. Do not apply the adhesive to an area greater than can be covered in one day. Allow the adhesive to dry completely. Apply 2 coats of adhesive on absorbent substrates (the first coat must have dried out completely before the second is applied). Apply the adhesive evenly on the underside of the roof membrane (note: welding seam overlap area must be free of adhesive). Once the adhesive has been allowed to evaporate sufficiently (finger test), apply the membrane onto the substrate adhesive. Press down firmly on the membrane using a roller.

Clean all tools and application equipment with SikaRoof® Cleaner L-100 immediately after use. Hardened material can only be removed mechanically.
