Sika® Igolflex®-611

(former MasterSeal® 611)

High solids protective coating and curing membrane based on emulsified bitumen

Sika® Igolflex®-611 is a brown rubber/bitumen liquid emulsion with excellent adhesion which dries to a tough black seamless, flexible protective coating which also acts as a curing compound and vapourproof membrane.
Suitable for use in tropical and hot climatic conditions.

Usage

  • General waterproofing and damp proofing of concrete, asbestos cement, roofing felt, slate tiles, wood, etc.
  • Metal protection: provides protection for structural steelwork, pipes, etc.
  • Insulation: provides a vapour barrier for cold storage rooms, etc.
  • Protection to a variety of buried structures such as concrete foundations and retaining walls.
  • As a curing compound onto green concrete.

Shelf life

12 months minimum from production date when stored properly in original, unopened, sealed containers.

Storage conditions

Store in undamaged, unopened, original sealed packaging in dry conditions at temperatures between +5°C and +35°C. Protect from direct sunlight, heat and moisture.

Typically, a coverage rate of 2 - 6 m2 / litre / coat (minimum 2 coats required) dependent on substrate, porosity, texture and desired application.
Application steps

SUBSTRATE PREPARATION

Ensure surface to be treated is sound and free of all oil, grease or conventional curing compounds.  Sika® Igolflex®-611 can be applied directly as a protection to concrete surfaces cured utilising non- degradable curing compounds such as Sika® Antisol®-181.

If the surface is dusty it should be primed with a coat of Sika® Igolflex®-611 diluted with an equal quantity of clean water and allowed to dry, before applying further coats of Sika® Igolflex®-611. 

Sika® Igolflex®-611 can be applied to damp surfaces.

APPLICATION

Apply by brush, broom or squeegee. Apply one or two coats, depending on the degree of protection required. Apply subsequent coats at right angles to the first, allowing 12 to 24 hours between coats. 

Where being utilised to damp proof solid floors or where a screed is to be applied over Sika® Igolflex®-611, apply a second coat at right angles and lightly grit to form a key. Allow at least 24 hours before application of concrete screed, ensuring this is greater than 60 mm in thickness.

CLEANING OF EQUIPMENT

Before Sika® Igolflex®-611 has dried, clean tools using soapy water. If dried, remove by scraping and with paraffin or white spirit.
