Sika® Igolflex®-619

(former MasterSeal® 619)

Non-fibrated bitumen emulsion coating

Sika® Igolflex®-619 is a brown rubber/bitumen liquid emulsion with excellent adhesion which dries to a tough black seamless, flexible dampproof and vapourproof membrane.
Suitable for tropical and hot climatic conditions.

Usage

  • Protection and damp-proofing of concrete, asbestos cement sheets, roofing felts, wood.
  • Protection of steel work, pipes and metal.

Composition

Bitumen emulsion coating with 10 % rubber content.

Shelf life

12 months minimum from production date when stored properly in original, unopened, sealed containers.

Storage conditions

Store in undamaged, unopened, original sealed packaging in dry conditions at temperatures between +5°C and +35°C. Protect from direct sunlight, heat and moisture.

Typically, a coverage rate of 3 - 5 m2 / litre / coat (minimum 2 coats required) dependent on the substrate, porosity, texture and desired application.

Application steps

SUBSTRATE PREPARATION

Sika® Igolflex®-619 may be applied to damp but not wet surfaces. During hot, dry weather application may be assisted by dampening the surfaces to be treated.

APPLICATION

  • Sika® Igolflex®-619 must be stirred well before use.
  • Where a single drum is used for prolonged periods, occasional stirring during application is recommended.
  • Apply evenly and in one direction using a stiff brush.
  • A minimum two-coat application is recommended to avoid possible gaps in the film.
  • Each coat must be allowed to dry before applying the next one at right angles to the first.
 

CLEANING OF EQUIPMENT

Clean all equipment and tools with water immediately after use.
