SikaProof® Adhesive-01

POLYURETHANE ADHESIVE, FOR USE WITH SIKAPROOF WATERPROOFING SYSTEM

SikaProof® Adhesive-01 is a thixotropic 2-component polyurethane adhesive. SikaProof® Adhesive-01 is part of the SikaProof® P-1201 System and is used to adhere the SikaProof® P-1200 membrane to concrete or other suitable cementitious substrates. Suitable for use in hot and tropical climatic conditions.

Usage

SikaProof® Adhesive-01 is used for bonding the SikaProof® P-1200 waterproofing membrane to reinforced concrete to form a fully bonded membrane waterproofing system used for basements and other below ground structures.

The indicated shelf life is from the date of production if stored properly in undamaged, unopened, original sealed packaging. For expiry date see label.

Storage conditions

Dry storage at temperature from +5 °C up to +30 °C. Protect from direct sunlight, rain, snow, ice, humidity, etc. Store in a horizontal position. Do not stack pallets of the membrane rolls on top of each other, or under pallets of any other material during transport or storage.

Application steps

SUBSTRATE QUALITY

Reinforced concrete structure must be:
  • Hardened and of sufficient compressive strength, minimum 25 N/mm2
  • With a minimum pull off strength 1.5 N/mm2
  • Dry, sound, clean and free of any contaminations (example dust, oil, grease, cement laitance, release agent)
  • Free from surface defects (example blowholes, voids, honeycombing, cracks, protrusions)

SUBSTRATE PREPARATION

The concrete or other suitable cementitious substrate must meet the defined substrate quality. If the substrate does not fulfil the requirements, the surface must be pre-treated prior to the application, in order to prevent any subsequent damage to the membrane sheets.

MIXING

Mix components A+B together in the correct proportion into a suitable mixing pail for at least 3 minutes with a low speed mixer until the material becomes smooth in consistency and a uniform white colour. Avoid aeration while mixing the 2 components.

Pour the whole mix into another clean container and mix again for at least 1 more minute.

Mix only that quantity which can be used within its pot life.

CLEANING OF EQUIPMENT

Clean all tools immediately after use with Sika® Colma Cleaner. Hardened material can only be removed mechanically (example by sand-blasting)
