Sika® Rugasol® SRT 426

(former MFinish SRT 426)

Surface retarder for exposed aggregate finishes

Sika® Rugasol® SRT 426 is an aqueous dispersion of high-grade active components free of organic solvents. After application it forms a soft but stable film on the formwork. After demoulding the film remains on the concrete surface or on the formwork where it can be removed easily. It is available as per the belwo grade and color:

  • Grey: exposure depth: 3.0–6.0 mm

Usage

Sika® Rugasol® SRT 426 may be applied for architectural concrete where exposed surface finishes and high reproducibility are required. It should preferably be used on mould surfaces (negative) application.
Sika® Rugasol® SRT 426 is ideal for all types of concrete where washed surfaces are required, especially for all horizontal and vertical, smooth, structured or bevelled with formwork types such as word, steel or polymer.

Store in undamaged, unopened, original sealed packaging in dry conditions at temperatures between +5°C and +50°C. Protect from direct sunlight and frost.

MIXING

Sika® Rugasol® SRT 426 has to be thoroughly mixed with a paddle before use.

APPLICATION

For negative applications Sika® Rugasol® SRT 426 has to be applied preferably with a foam roller or a spraying unit economically but evenly onto the formwork/mould surface as one or two coats.

The drying time depends on the thickness of the film and the ambient temperature and humidity.


As an example, the drying time at 25°C and 60% relative humidity is typically:

  • Spraying application 20–45 min
  • Foam roller 30–90 min
 

The hardening process of the concrete should not start before 60 minutes after pouring.

Heating of the forms should not start before 60 minutes after consolidation. All data from proving trial should be transmitted exactly to the manufacturing process.

Vibration respectively consolidation times as short as necessary. Ideal vibration times have to be determined during trials.

The wash-out normally takes place after 16 hours. The wash-out can be done most efficiently by high pressured water.
