Sika® Separol®-230 AE

Vegetable oil emulsion based release agent

Sika® Separol®-230 AE is ready to use, vegetable oil based, mould release agent that provides smooth concrete surfaces and easy separation of the moulds from concrete by preventing adherence between freshly placed concrete and the moulds.

Usage

Sika® Separol®-230 AE is formulated for application to plywood, steel and plastic faced formwork and moulds, prior to casting concrete, to ensure a clean and fast release.

Storage conditions

Store in undamaged, unopened, original sealed packaging in dry conditions at temperatures between +5 °C and +50 °C. Mix well before use.

Consumption

On non-absorbent surfaces (steel, plastic etc.) approximately 60 m2 surface can be coated with 1 liter product by spraying. In case of brush/roller application approximately 30 m2 surface can be coated with 1 liter product.
Application steps

APPLICATION INSTRUCTIONS

  • Before application of mould release agent, the moulds should be dry and clean, concrete and rust residues must be removed.
  • Sika® Separol®-230 AE is ready to use so it doesn’t need to stir continuously but also it is recommended to shake it before using.
  • The application can be carried out one homogenous coat with brush, roller or spray. In order to achieve maximum benefit, the product should be applied by a very fine fog spray in order to allow its highly effective and efficient performance to be maintained.
  • Only a thin film of the product is required to ensure maximum performance. Excess application may cause staining. Any excess should be wiped off using a cloth or sponge.
  • Before concreting preliminary tests are recommended to optimize the procedure for each project.
