SikaControl® SRA 50

(former MasterLife® SRA 50)

Expanding plasticising admixture for cementitious grout and concrete

SikaControl® SRA 50 is an expansion system which compensates for plastic shrinkage and settlement in cementitious grouts and concrete.
Supplied in powder form, SikaControl® SRA 50 produces controlled expansion and maintains high water retention. It contains a water-reducing agent which increases the workability of the mix with a reduced water content. Full expansion is achieved before initial setting occurs resulting in a high degree of interfacial contact. Suitable for use in hot and tropical climatic conditions.  

  • Improves the free flowing properties of the grout or concrete at low water/cement ratios.
  • Increases the volume of the grout or concrete which in turn offsets shrinkage and settlement.

Storage conditions

Store in undamaged, unopened, original sealed packaging in dry conditions at temperatures between +5°C and +50°C. Protect from moisture.

Consumption

Recommended dosage

0.5 % by weight of binder.

Other dosages by weight of binder may be used depending on the mix design, raw materials, climatic conditions and concrete requirements.
Trial mixes must be performed to establish the exact dosage rate required.

 
Application steps

MIXING

First add the water to the mixer and then the Portland cement, mix thoroughly until the cement has been completely dispersed. Then add the SikaControl® SRA 50 and sand (if any is being used), and continue mixing a further 2 minutes or until complete dispersion of the SikaControl® SRA 50 is achieved.
