Sika® Stabilizer DF 880

(former MasterRoc® DF 880)

Conditioning agent for aggregates and waste water recovered from the excavation phases in tunnel-boring machine projects

Sika® Stabilizer DF 880 is an admixture designed for the conditioning of aggregates and waste water recovered during excavations using tunnel-boring machines (TBMs) both with Earth Pressure Balance (EPB) and with hard-rock systems that have been treated with Sika® Stabilizer SLF foaming agents or Sika® Stabilizer ABR anti-abrasion agents.
It will prevent the formation of foam in order to permit the use of aggregate in the production of concrete or handling of waste water through the
treatment plant. Suitable for use in hot and tropical climatic conditions.

Usage

Sika® Stabilizer DF 880 may only be used by experienced professionals as:

Shelf life

12 months from date of production if stored properly

Storage conditions

Store in undamaged, unopened, original sealed packaging in dry conditions at temperatures between +5°C and +50°C. Avoid freezing.

Recommended dosage

20-25 litres per 100 m³ of treated soil.

The optimum dosage depends on the type of soil, the degree of treatment and the process used for its recovery. It is essential to carry out prior tests in order to adjust the optimum dosage of the admixture. At the same time, a comparison must be made on the viability of the treated aggregate (a comparison of concrete produced with treated aggregate against a reference concrete is recommended).
Application steps

APPLICATION

Sika® Stabilizer DF 880 is added to the water used for the washing of treated soil in the decanter, ensuring a homogenous mix of the admixture. To reduce the foaming of the waste water, spray Sika® Stabilizer DF 880 directly onto the surface.

 

CLEANING OF EQUIPMENT

The cleaning of tools and equipment which are soiled with Sika® Stabilizer DF 880 should be carried out using water, preferably hot.
