HIGH PERFORMACE RETARDING PLASTICISER FOR CONCRETE

Sika® Plastiment® PZ 327 is a high performance plasticising retarder, beneficial in maintaining workability especially in high ambient temperatures. Suitable for use in hot and tropical climatic conditions.

Usage

  • Ready mix concrete where workability retention coupled with retardation of initial set are beneficial
  • To improve cohesion, workability and compactability in concretes using poorly graded/shaped fine aggregates
  • Hot weather concreting where controlled delay to initial set is of prime importance
  • Large slabs or bridge decks, etc. where the extension of vibration is needed to avoid cold joints
  • As a synergy admixture in combination with Sika superplasticizer
  • Ideal for site batches, precast and ready mixed concrete

Store in undamaged, unopened, original sealed packaging in dry conditions at temperatures between +5°C and +45°C. Mix well before use.

Technical Information

Concreting guidance

The standard rules of good concreting practice for production and placing must be observed when using Sika® Plastiment® PZ 327 in concrete. Refer to relevant standards. Fresh concrete must be cured properly especially at high temperatures in order to prevent plastic and drying shrinkage. Use Sika® Antisol® products as a curing agent or apply wet hessian.

Compatibility

Sika® Plastiment® PZ 327 is suitable for mixes containing all types of cement and supplementary cementitious materials such as: Microsilica (Silica Fume), Fly Ash (PFA), GGBS (Ground Granulated Blast Furnace Slag) and the following Sika products:

We recommend for trial mixes to be performed to establish the required performance when combining Sika® Plastiment® PZ 327 with the above products or other admixtures. Please consult our Sika Technical Department for further assistance.

Dispensing

Sika® Plastiment® PZ 327 should be added to the concrete mix during the mixing cycle at the same time as the water or the aggregate. Never add Sika® Plastiment® PZ 327 to the dry cement. No extension to normal mixing times is necessary.
Consumption

Recommended dosage

As a general guide, a dosage range of 200 ml to 850 ml per 100 kg of total binder is recommended. Depending on the desired properties, a dosage of up to 1000 ml per 100 kg of total binder shall be used. Trials should be carried out to determine the optimum dosage of Sika® Plastiment® PZ 327.
