Water dispersed adhesion promoting primer

Sikagard®-552 W Aquaprimer (G) is a one part water dispersed adhesion promoting primer for water dispersed polymer paint coatings. Suitable for use in hot and tropical climatic conditions.

Usage

  • Priming coat for concrete and dense mineral substrates like fibre cement, aerated concrete, gypsum and thin rendering.
  • Sikagard®-552 W Aquaprimer (G) can also be used as a primer on firmly adhering existing water based coatings.
  • Suitable as primer for protection coating systems against ingress (Principle 1, method 1.3 of EN 1504-9)
  • Suitable as primer for protection coating systems for moisture control (Principle 2, method 2.3 of EN 1504-9)
  • Suitable as primer for protection coating systems for increasing the resistivity (Principle 8, method 8.3 of EN 1504-9)

Note: When application is on existing coating, waiting time prior to overcoat the primer will increase by 100 %.

Consumption

Depending on surface absorption 0.10 - 0.12 kg/m2.

Some substrates will require higher consumption than indicated above. This figure is theoretical and does not include for any additional material required due to surface porosity, surface profile, variations in level and wastage etc.
Application steps

CURING TREATMENT

Sikagard®-552 W Aquaprimer (G) does not require any special curing but must be protected from rain for at least 30 minutes at +20 °C.

CLEANING OF EQUIPMENT

Clean all tools and application equipment with clean water immediately after use. Hardened / cured material can only be removed mechanically.
