Sikagard® C Glass

Fiberglass reinforcement for resin-rich systems

A fiberglass product used to reinforce and control thickness of resin rich systems to form a tough glass fiber reinforced composite system. The resulting improvements in surface finish, impact and abrasion resistance, and excellent chemical resistance, ultimately to prevent ingress of corrosive elements, thus enhancing the quality and durability of the finished system. It is available in a range of grades to suit different perofrmance requirements.

Storage conditions

Store in a shaded, dry area in original sealed packaging and at temperatures between +5°C and +35°C. Protect from direct sunlight, heat and moisture.

Application steps

APPLICATION

Cut the Sikagard® C-Glass mesh according to the structural dimensions. Include an overlapping width of approx.10 cm. Put the Sikagard® C-Glass mesh into the embedding layer by hand and embed it with a plastic trowel. Using a solid roller press Sikagard® C-Glass mesh evenly and uniformly to impregnate the resin. Please ensure no air bubbles entrapped within the mesh and coating system. Make sure that the Sikagard® C-Glass mesh overlaps by approx. 10 cm. Sikagard® C-Glass mesh and substrate must be completely wetted with the resin. The consumption of the resin may vary as per the density of the Sikagard® C Glass. Remove any excess resin. After embedding the Sikagard® C-Glass, reroll the whole surface with new mixed resin. This can be done wet-on-wet or on the next day. The applied surface must be free of air voids.

Multiple layer application can be carried out using the above sequence of application.

Please ensure basic Personal Protective Equiments (PPE) suh as gloves, safety glass and protective masks should be worn when handling the product.
