Sarnatape®-200

Aluminium Butyl rubber adhesive tape for Sarnafil® MT roof membranes

Sarnatape®-200 is a butyl rubber one-sided adhesion sealing tape. Comprising of a top layer of aluminium/HDPE laminated membrane with a butyl rubber adhesion layer sandwiched between the membrane and release liner. Suitable for use in hot and tropical climatic conditions.

Usage

This product may only be used by experienced professionals.
  • Connections and terminations and detailing of Sarnafil® MT sub-roof membranes (FPO) and Sarnavap® vapour control layers (polyethylene).
  • SikaBit® S transition tape (Sikaproof® A)

Storage conditions

The product must be stored in original, unopened and undamaged sealed packaging in dry conditions at temperatures between +5 °C and +25 °C. Always refer to packaging.

Compatibility

Not compatible in direct contact with PVC, tar, asphalt, hot bitumen, wood preservatives with surfactants and substances containing oil, solvents or wetting agents. These materials could adversely affect the product properties.

Application steps

SUBSTRATE QUALITY

The substrate must be structurally sound, surface should be dry, clean, and free of all contaminants such as dust, dirt, oil, grease and poorly bonded paint coatings which could affect adhesion.
The following substrates are suitable for bonding:

  • Wood, plywood, OSB, concrete, Metal, PP, PE

SUBSTRATE PREPARATION

All dust, loose and friable material must be completely removed from all surfaces before application of tape. Porous substrates must be primed with Primer 130 (Refer to Product Data Sheet) before application of the tape.

APPLICATION

Reference must be made to further documentation where applicable, such as relevant method statement, application manual and installation or working instructions.
