SikaControl®-707 WT

WATERPROOFING ADMIXTURE FOR CONCRETE

A liquid admixture for concrete to give high water resistance, based upon a blend of surface active agents and refined lignosulphonate. Suitable for use in hot and tropical climatic conditions.

  • Concrete containing SikaControl®-707 WT significantly improves resistance to water penetration under conditions of hydrostatic pressure or capillary absorption
  • Durability is increased due to a significant reduction in w/c ratio
  • Sulphate attack is reduced due to the sulphate bearing ground water being resisted
  • The cohesive properties of the concrete are improved thus reducing segregation and bleeding
  • Concrete of similar workability to a control mix produced with SikaControl®-707 WT, is easier to place
  • Pumpability of concrete is greatly improved
  • The surface finish of the concrete is improved

Usage

SikaControl®-707 WT is recommended for use in structural and mass concrete particularly for water-retaining structures wherever waterproof concrete is required such as:
▪ Reservoirs and dams
▪ Sewage treatment plants
▪ Canals
▪ Culverts
▪ Tunnels
▪ Swimming pools
▪ Concrete water tanks

Storage conditions

Store in undamaged, unopened, original sealed packaging in dry conditions at temperatures between +5°C and +50°C. Mix well before using.

Technical Information

Concreting guidance

The standard rules of good concreting practice for production and placing must be observed when using SikaControl®-707 WT in concrete. Refer to relevant standards.
Fresh concrete must be cured properly especially at high temperatures in order to prevent plastic and drying shrinkage. Use Sika® Antisol® products as a curing agent or apply wet hessian.

Compatibility

SikaControl®-707 WT is suitable for mixes containing all types of cement and supplementary cementitious materials such as: Microsilica (Silica Fume), Fly Ash (PFA), GGBS (ground granulated blast furnace slag) and the following Sika products:
SikaPlast®, Sika® ViscoCrete®, Sikament®, Plastiment®, SikaPump®, Sika® FerroGard®, SikaFume®, SikaFiber®, Sika® Aer, Sika® Stabilizer
We recommend to perform trial mixes to establish the required performance when combining SikaControl®-707 WT with the above products or other admixtures. Please consult our Sika Technical Department.

Dispensing

SikaControl®-707 WT is a ready-to-use admixture to be added to the concrete as a separate component. Optimal result is obtained if SikaControl®-707 WT is poured into the concrete mix right after the addition of the first 80 % of the mixing water, i.e. when all solids are wetted.
Avoid adding the admixture to the dry aggregates.
Consumption

Recommended dosage

0.2 - 0.6 % by weight of binder
Other dosages by weight of binder can be used depending on the mix design, raw materials, climatic conditions and concrete requirements. Trial mixes must be performed to establish the exact dosage rate required.
