SikaControl®-740 WT

(former MLife WP 740)

Integral waterproofing admixture for mortar and concrete

SikaControl®-740 WT is based on hydrophobic pore-blocking and waterproofing ingredients. It reduces concrete water absorption and permeability. SikaControl®-740 WT reacts with the cement hydration process to form a hydrophobic ingredient to reduce the capillary suction and prevent the ingress of potentially deleterious water soluble materials resulting in concrete with enhanced durability. Suitable for use in hot and tropical climatic conditions.

Usage

SikaControl®-740 WT is suitable for concrete structure, requiring water tightness, such as:
  • Basement walls and floors
  • Tunnels / underpass
  • Foundations, piles and pile caps
  • Water retaining structures, swimming pool, water tanks, reservoirs, water towers
  • Reinforced concrete in marine environment subject to tidal and wet / dry cycling
  • Waste water treatment and desalination plant

Store in undamaged, unopened, original sealed packaging in dry conditions at temperatures between +5°C and +50°C. Protect from moisture.

Technical Information

Concreting guidance

The standard rules of good concreting practice for production and placing must be observed when using SikaControl®-740 WT in concrete. Refer to relevant standards.
Fresh concrete must be cured properly especially at high temperatures in order to prevent plastic and drying shrinkage. Use Sika® Antisol® products as a curing agent or apply wet hessian.

Dispensing

The required quantity of SikaControl®-740 WT should be accurately measured and added during the mixing process either manually or mechanically either to the aggregates of directly to the mixer.

Compatibility

SikaControl®-740 WT is suitable for mixes containing all types of cement and supplementary cementitious materials such as: Microsilica (Silica Fume), Fly Ash (PFA), GGBS (ground granulated blast furnace slag) and the following Sika products:
SikaPlast®, Sika® ViscoCrete®, Sikament®, Plastiment®, SikaPump®, Sika® FerroGard®, SikaFume®, SikaFiber®, Sika® Aer, Sika® Stabilizer, SikaControl®
We recommend to perform trial mixes to establish the required performance when combining SikaControl®-740 WT with the above products or other admixtures. Please consult our Sika Technical Department.
Consumption

Recommended dosage

1 - 2 % by weight of binder.
Other dosages by weight of binder can be used depending on the mix design, raw materials, climatic conditions and concrete requirements.
Trial mixes must be performed to establish the exact dosage rate required.
