Sikalastic®-152 AE

FIBRE-REINFORCED CEMENTITIOUS COATING FOR FLEXIBLE WATERPROOFING AND CONCRETE PROTECTION

Sikalastic®-152 AE is a two-component, fibre-reinforced cementitious coating with special additives, offering crack bridging, low elastic modulus, waterproofing and protection for concrete subgrades subject to flexural strain. Suitable for use in hot and tropical climatic conditions.

Usage

Waiting time to overcoating

Sikalastic®-152 AE must be properly hardened before overcoating or contact with water. The following waiting times can be used as a guide:

Application steps

MIXING

Mix the components of Sikalastic®-152 AE using a low-speed electric drill mixer (~500 rpm). Shake Component A thoroughly in its container, then pour half of it into a suitable mixing container. While mixing, slowly add Component B, followed by the remaining half of Component A.

Continue mixing for at least 3 minutes until a uniform, lump-free consistency is achieved.

Use the entire pack when mixing. Do not add water or any other ingredients to the mix.

APPLICATION

All substrate joints and penetrations must be pre-sealed before applying the coating. Use coved details at floor/wall junctions.

Sikalastic®-152 AE is typically applied with a trowel. Brush or roller may be used where suitable.

Apply the first coat with firm, even pressure to achieve a consistent thickness. Once dry, apply subsequent coats to ensure a uniform, continuous layer fully covering the previous coat.

In highly stressed areas, embed alkali-resistant glass fibre reinforcement into the first fresh layer. Ensure it is well-trimmed and fully embedded, avoiding voids.

CLEANING OF EQUIPMENT

Clean all tools and application equipment with water immediately after use. Hardened material can only be mechanically removed.
