2015
Western Cape, South Africa

Gouda Wind farm in the Western Cape of South Africa is the first Acciona wind farm installed by ACCIONA Energía in South Africa and will generate 423 GW/h per annum to power over 200,000 homes.

Project Requirements

The project consisted of forty-six 3 MW turbines mounted on concrete towers with a hub height of 100 meters. Joints between the precast elements needed to be sealed and filled with a pumpable cementitious engineering grout.

Sika Solutions

Locally produced SikaGrout®-295 ZA was used to fill horizontal and vertical joints between the concrete segments with Sikadur®-31 CF to seal and finish the geometrical appearance of the cylindrical tower. The pore sealer Sika MonoTop®-620 was used to cover small imperfections in the concrete surface.
