Sab Miller Brewery

SAB Miller requested a high performance solution for hygienic and tough floors that also allow easy cleaning and create an environment consistent with quality beer production. The bottling and packaging materials need to be kept totally free from contamination to prevent any adverse effects on the beer. Additional condition was the extremely short timeline for the flooring application.

The work had to be carried out directly on the completely new concrete floor slabs, just 5 days after they had been poured and finished. This required a surface vapor barrier to be applied to allow early installation of a new protective epoxy flooring system.

Sika proposed Sikagard®-720 EpoCem as a moisture barrier layer, which could then be followed quickly by the application of Sikafloor® PurCem® system and Sikafloor® MultiDur system. Sikafloor® PurCem® offers an exceptional protection to floors subjected to heavy loading chemical exposure and liquids.
