On February 3, 2025, a group of 26 International Business students from Zurich University of Applied Sciences (ZHAW) embarked on a unique educational journey to Sika Japan’s Hiratsuka Global Technology Center. As part of their field trip program, the visit aimed to deepen their understanding of global business strategies and cross-border operations. The morning session featured an insightful presentation by Sika Japan’s management team on "International Management at Sika – M&A, Growth, Integration, Experiences." This session provided students with a comprehensive overview of how multinational corporations navigate complex global markets while fostering growth through mergers and acquisitions.
Immersive Learning and Networking Opportunities
The afternoon offered students an invaluable chance to engage in direct discussions with Sika Japan employees during a networking lunch, allowing them to gain deeper insights into the company’s corporate culture and operational strategies. The visit culminated in a guided tour of Sika’s cutting-edge factory and laboratory, where students observed advanced manufacturing processes and technological innovations firsthand. This experience not only enhanced their academic knowledge but also aligned with the principles of SDG 4—promoting quality education through vocational training and real-world learning opportunities.
